Banana Puddin’ Poptails

Today I am sharing the perfect summer time, poolside treat, a Banana Puddin’ Poptail.

So what exactly is a Banana Puddin’ Poptails? Well it is a cross between a popsicle and cocktail of course, and what could be more Americana than good old fashioned Banana Puddin’?  Banana Pudding Poptail pool sideThat’s right I left that “g” off to signify the true southernmost of this recipe, lol. Which I am pretty sure will ruin my SEO, (for non bloggers- Search Engine Optimizer)  but hey what can I say I stick to my guns on these things, I call it my southern authenticity.Banana Pudding Poptail Cocktails Picture 6This is the perfect summer time concoction to beat the heat and have two treats in one. This super easy drink uses the iconic banana pop, of our youth, to add just the right amount of retro vibe to a party theme. Plus, it really makes a really cute drink presentation for an adult swim party.Banana Pudding Poptail Cocktails Picture 4There are several varieties of drinks you can do by adding popsicles to a cocktail, I just like the idea of a banana puddin’ pop, since it is so close to the 4th of July and this is such a traditional dessert here for the holidays. My husband personally loves the  Strawberry Basil Poptail version. Which is just a Strawberry Fruit Bar, Fresh Basil, Rum and Lime La Croix, super yummy and very refreshing as well.Banana Pudding Poptail Cocktails Picture 2

 THE GROCERY LIST:

  • Mayfield Banana Pops
  • La Croix Coconut Water
  • Dark Rum
  • Banana Liquor
  • Half-n-Half
  • Heavy Whipping Cream (to make whip cream, or Rediwhip)
  • Nilla Wafers (crushed for garnish) optional
Banana Pudding Poptail Cocktails Ingrediants JENRON DESIGNSThe mixture is super easy – 1 cup Coconut LaCroix, 1 shot Dark Rum, 2 shots Banana Liqueur. Add in 2 Tbsp half-n-half, top with whip cream and crushed Nilla wafers. Add in the banana pop just before your serve to prevent melting. Top it off with a cute paper straw, so you can get all that goodness from the bottom of your glass.Banana Pudding Poptail Cocktails Picture 7I have chosen to use these cute little milk jars, which I found holds the pops in place perfectly. This is important, especially if you plan to distribute the drinks via a tray. Hand passed drinks can be tricky and you certainly do not want to drop them or have them tip over, so make your glassware or plastic ware selection accordingly. What’s In My Beach Bag?

When it comes to taking a bag to the beach or pool, you really want to make sure you have all the essentials packed. There is nothing worse than having to make a dozen trips back to your home, or hotel room to get items that you forgot when all you really want to do is relax. What in my pool bag JENRON DESIGNSA few essentials that should be in any swim bag of course;  big sunglasses, I like a Jackie O variety; a good sunscreen I like Neutrogena spray it is not greasy; absorbent cabana beach towel and cute comfy flip flops. I have a few other things that you might not think of; like beach towel chair clips for your lounge chair, these bad boys can literally save you from running down the beach after your towel, which I have done a few times, waterproof cell phone cases and wet swim suit holders
