Eggcited for Easter?
Have you gotten Eggcited for Easter yet? Well today I am sharing all my sweet Easter decor from the Porch to Table.
Are you Eggcited for Easter? Here are a few easy tips for creating a sweet Easter table & porch that can carry you all the way through spring with minimal holiday change out. Let’s face it, nobody wants to buy a single use one trick pony when it comes to decor. We all work hard for our money, so why not get as much use out of our decor as we can, right?

This season I decided to go with brighter palette of colors including lots of shades of blues along with the more traditional pastels that are usually associated with Easter. The focus being on my Blue Willow plates this year which I have done in previous years for St. Patrick’s Day and really enjoyed, but never Easter. The closest I have gotten was with my Robin’ s Egg Blue, Easter Nesting Table.
I have always loved my vintage Blue Willow plates, which I believe all good southern ladies should have a set in their collection; otherwise you are just not southern at all. I have decided to add my bunny plates to the top of them just to make the table Easter ready, and more Eggciting. I layered them all with my new wooden carved chargers which are perfect for Easter.
History of the Blue Willow plates, they were originally developed by Thomas Turner in 1779. The Blue Willow pattern eventually became a classic fixture on many tables around the world, although the pattern is actually English, it is based on chinoiserie pattern of blue waterside landscape designs in porcelain. There is a poem that goes along with them:
Two birds flying high,
A Chinese vessel, sailing by.
A bridge with three men, sometimes four,
A willow tree, hanging o’er.
A Chinese temple, there it stands,
Built upon the river sands.
An apple tree, with apples on,
A crooked fence to end my song.
I always say fresh flowers go a long way on table, and this was the one of the quickest and easiest ways to color to my table this year. Two large vase arrangements of garden roses in shades of hot pink, light pink and white with silver dollar eucalyptus, purple status and sea lavender created the perfect bunny holler.
I found these two hefty silver bunny candle holders at my local retailer this season and knew they would be making a appear on the table with last years after season score of the silver carrot bowls.
Since eggs have been in short supply this year, I have opted to decorate with all of my hand craved wooden eggs. Since the primary joke is that everyone is dying potatoes this year, due to bird flu causing a shortage. Personally I will just stick to Cadbury Creme eggs they have always been my favorite anyways, here is a fantastic cocktail recipe using them:
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Vanilla Vodka
- 2 oz White Chocolate Liqueur
- 1 Tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
- 4 drops of yellow food colors ( to make a yolk)
- 1 Cadbury Creme Egg
- Melted milk chocolate for the rim
- Garnish: shaved chocolate & 1/2 Cadbury creme egg
Steps
- To rim your glass, melt your chocolate on a plate and then slowly dip your glass in and twist, then aside
- In a small mixing bowl combine condensed milk and yellow food coloring. Add to the bottom of your martini glass
- Mix the liqueur and vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice. Mix for 15 seconds
- Strain into your martini glass and garnish with chocolate shavings & half a Cadbury Creme Egg

Finally, I added a Easter wreath to door this year I found some Easter Egg lights to add in so it actually lights up. Talk about Eggciting! Not only does the wreath have a hidden Easter bunny, but the eggs light up at night too!
This wreath was created by layering in a grapevine bunny wreath I picked up also at Ross for $10. While I would probably never use the bunny wreath alone it makes a great layering piece to add on top of a thicker wreath. That is how you can easily make a more luxurious wreath by combining items together.
