Getting All the Fall Feels?
It is that time of year finally when you start to feel the crispness of fall in the air. Are you getting all the fall feels? Join us for our fall home tour.
Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well this fine fall season. It is that time of year finally when you start to feel the crispness of fall in the air. Are you getting all the fall feels? Well fall just happens to be my favorite time of the year. You know as a kid I always loved summer, and I remember asking my parents what their favorite season was, and they both answered fall. While I did not understand the allure of it at the time, I certainly do now, more than ever. Fall is a reminder that endings can be beautiful, it is all in how you view them. So, what is giving me the fall feels this year? Golden pumpkins! I found these beauties at Trader Joe’s and according to manager they have been selling like hotcakes this year and hard to get restocked. I have had the Cinderella pumpkins and done the white pumpkins but these REALLY lite my fire this year. Along with the actual Chrysanthemums variety in a rusty orange color, verse the button mum style. I found these out at the Growers Outlet for $8.00 a pot, total steal.
I am also loving my new pumpkin plates I picked up from Hobby Lobby this year. The leather chargers I already had pairs really nicely with the slate black Southern Living plates I previously purchased. These were both items I had been shopping for some time and I am glad I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on both, as I got rid of some of my other dishware. I find that I use them both all the time, especially in daily use applications.
I also purchased the leather napkin cuffs last year, which I am still loving right now. Along with these cute little Rae Dunn Napkins I found at Home Goods last year at end of season. However I could have sworn I saw them again this year.
I snagged these cute wood craved pumpkins at Ross. I ended up getting two sets one for each of my built ins and they are perfect for the entire fall season. They only ran $4.99 each which is total deal for the heavy craved wood they are made out of, as they quite substantial holiday decor pieces. Honestly you should never count Ross out, they get some really cool stuff in from time to time on close outs. Especially now since Tuesday Morning sadly went out of business.
As I previously mentioned I love to celebrate texture and this table runner completely fit the bill. Not only did it add texture, but look at all of the color possibilities it adds to pull from for your table. This piece was a summer table runner at Hobby Lobby and on clearance when I went a few weeks ago, but it just screamed fall to me. I am sure this will become one of those pieces I pull all the time for decor because it is so versatile and I literally paid pennies on the dollar for it. I am using it in the Books and Bourbon Library on the fireplace hearth.
Not all the fall feels have to come from decor this lotion is EVERYTHING! I put it next to sink for after doing the dishes, and it makes my hands smell great and skin so soft. I love this product for the fall it gives tons of fall feels. It makes me feel like Mary Katherine Gallagher from SNL, as I am now always smelling my hands in such an awkward way.
While your at it pick these up, because who is not burning candles this time of year? Well let me just say how surprised I was with the throw-(how far the scent goes) of the Trader Joe’s candle and the freshness of the Honey Crisp Apple. OMG, it was so good, I jut had to pick up the orange spice for Thanksgiving, too! Now the Pumpkin Vanilla was not my thing I want a deep rich pumpkin spice smell, so went back with a timeless favorite from Bath & Body Works.
Now for a culinary treat both of these spreads are perfection for any bread you might be having this season. Think that Burt’s Pumpkin Bread with a smear, or your bagel with a little something extra. Yeah I know it just calories right?
Leaf Peeping, creating a very cozy spot for me and the fur babies to watches those leaves fall and catch up on our reading. Little Zooey has been all about watching the leaves drop. This year we have a brand new stone fireplace we built out on the sleeping porch; which you can see the DIY here.
Cozy blankets, these are handmade wool blankets from Balmoral in Scotland. These came in from The House of Balmoral in Scotland yesterday which made me so excited. I ordered them on September 9th just after the passing of Queen Elizabeth since they are made from the local sheep’s wool. Honestly I was hoping for the royal tartan plaid, which is not a public pattern for sale. However I was able to get the original tartan plaid used for Burberry, which you might recognize. Which started off as the iconic coat lining back in the 1920’s the full story seen here.
The Specific Halloween Treats:
The mister always loves getting into the Halloween candy and this year there were some new fun things he loved, like chocolate covered PayDay bars and the fun green Twix and Snickers bars. I however liked thee Witches Brew Kit Kat which I think taste like the marshmallows out of Lucky Charms. Let’s face it, who ate the cereal, really? I just picked out all the marshmallows and then was all done with that nasty box of cereal of gross stale wannabe Cheerios, LOL!
I also found this amazing pillow find for Halloween which benefits the ASPCA via donations. The pillow fits perfectly into my Halloween theme and decor and supports animals which are always near and dear to my heart. In fact I have decided I may like them more than people, sorry folks.
Since I love my fur babies so much I ordered them a Halloween Advent 13 days of spooky from Amazon. They have been loving this daily treat as part of their seasonal routine. Here is one of my little familiars, Piper, in another one of favorite things for this season. A vintage black witches kettle, made of real cast iron. I found this lovely vintage piece at Out of the Cedar Chest in Gainesville, they have such great stuff, you should check them out.
It is kind of like my Vintage Glow Mold Black Cat for the front porch. I came across her at the World’s Largest Flea Market near Asheville; which is probably not even there any more after the flood and storms they just endured from Helene. Sending all our prayers, love and support to everyone in the effected areas.

Wonderful job on your blog! Some of these items look familiar, LOL. The pumpkin hand cream is the best and that apple candle that conveniently has my initials! Smells like REAL apples.
To my ride or die partner in crime, we had so much fun gathering up some these items this fall! I can not think of anyone I would rather make that Trader Joe’s run with to get all the “Fall Feels”! xoxo
