Boozy Dole Whip
Hi everyone!! For this long weekend, as the summer fades into the fall, I figured you might one last run at some summer time fun. So today I have created a Boozy Dole Whip for you guys this weekend, and it tastes like a tropical vacation in a cup.
As a kid I loved going to Disney World. My favorite treat was the yummy Dole Whips available only in Adventure Land. However, now days you better be putting a lot of rum into them to even get me near Disney World. The crowds, the lines, the heat, the crying, the screaming, endless scheduling, and the over priced everything. Honestly the entire scenario would make any adult want to drink. Funny it’s not the enchanted magically memories one has from their childhood, lol. Even so, I still love a good Dole Whip, and I really like the flexibility of this recipe. You can pre make it, and freeze which allows you to control the quality of products used, not to mention and it has a ton of uses. It’s a great summertime dessert treat, you can make it in to pops or add it into a punch for birthday parties or a shower. You can also make this recipe as a mocktail if your like, and me it taste like a vacation in a glass. If you decide to make it a grown up cocktail, you can just float a nice dark rum right on top, the possiblities for a Dole Whip are endless. It also keeps in the freezer, so if you have impromptu gathering, your prep work is already done. You can just pull the container out or freezer, microwave on defrost for about 2 mins, this will help liquefy the juices a bit. Mix with the cocktail recipe below, pour and serve, it is just that easy.
THE GROCERY LIST:
2 cup Pineapple chunks (frozen is better if you are it serving promptly)
3 Tbsp Honey
8 oz Frozen Whipped Topping
6 oz Pineapple Juice
ADD FOR A COCKTAIL
1 Can La Croix Coconut Sparkling Water
1 Cup Dark Rum-or 2 oz per glass (optional)
Put all items into your blender and mix. Garnish with fresh fruit to make it pretty.
