A Holiday Sleigh Ride in Colorado

A Holiday Sleigh Ride in Colorado

What a great time of year for A Holiday Sleigh Ride in Colorado. A fun way to share a one of kind, holiday travel idea. Imagine yourself actually living out the lyrics to Jingle Bells with a fun old fashioned sleigh ride in the mountains.

Riding in a one horse open sleigh is exactly what we did at Two Below Zero Sleigh Rides  located in Breckinridge, CO. We rented a private one horse open sleigh for 45 mins to take us on a holiday sleigh ride in Colorado. As we went dashing through the snow, this was truly one of kind experience and perfect for the holidays. Ever since I was a little girl and learned the words to Jingle Bells, I have always dreamed about riding in a old fashion sleigh in the snow.  I guess that is the visual part of me, I can’t just sing a song, I automatically have to envision it.

A beautiful horse gliding across the snowy hills and dales with picturesic mountains as our backdrop. The fresh scent of pine in the crisp cold air, the sound of the bells jingling with each trot of the horse. Snuggling under a warm, fur blanket with your sweetie at your side, was nothing short of perfection.
Our friendly guide took us on a 20-minute ride to a remote mountain top site. She also told us they just had a fresh snow, the night before, which made everything exceptionally pretty, and we were very lucky to see it.
She then tied off our beautiful, hardworking horse and allowed us to disembark. Of course, I had to ask if I could pet our sweet horse, because I am such a huge animal lover. She actually had apples and carrots in her pockets and allowed me to feed him. While we were at the outpost we took some fun pictures, and enjoyed the mountain vistas. The weather was changing so fast that day, over the mountain peeks in the distance. We were able to watch the snow roll in and before we left it was gone again. While just enjoying  the quite serenity of the snow covered mountain tops we also partook in some complimentary Hot Cocoa with Peppermint Schnapps, which to me just feels like Christmas!!!

It was another 20 minutes of delightful sleigh ride back down the trail to the Nordic Center where your snowy adventure sadly comes to an end.
I can tell you, for me it was a once in life time experience. Since we live in Georgia we do not get to experience very much snow, let alone a sleigh ride in the snow.

I would highly recommend this adventure to any in the local area or if you are on vacation in Colorado for the holidays. Two Below Zero also offers family dinner sleigh rides with a themed dining experience that offers a Colorado feeling you will never forget.
