| Rec Room Inspiration |
Welcome to Get A Room, new concept in online interior design I launched for 2018. Each month I will provide an inspiration design board for a fully designed room along with all the details and vendors so you can cherry pick the items to make your dream room a reality for your space.
What is GET A ROOM: Each month I will provide my followers with a free Vision Board complete with all the links to recreate the room in their own home. It will all be designed, matched and balanced to create a perfect room every time, all you have to do is know your room dimensions for windows, rugs and furniture pieces. Think about those box cosmetics and fashion subscriptions, it is the same idea but no charge to my followers.
Why is it FREE: First and foremost I LOVE Interior Design. I have decided, that while I personally love Industrial Farmhouse Chic and Farmhouse design is uber hot right now; I know it is not everyone’s cup of tea. As a Interior Designer I can appreciate all forms of home decor and I wanted to provide some of my other creative visions. Then, make them available to my followers, for free. Also, I get a lot of inquires about interior design for specific types of rooms, and yes I can still do some custom design work but I felt like this was the quickest platform to packaged a few universal designs, you might be able to find a design that works for you that you just love.

The REC Room
Definition: A recreation room (also known as a rec room, rumpus room, or ruckus room) is a room used for a variety of purposes, such as parties, games and other everyday or casual use.
This is a perfect time of year to get your families Rec Room in order. As the summer break quickly approaches and the all kiddos will be spending more time at home, make sure you have created a space for them to hang with there friends. I am designing this space with older kids in mind, younger children elementary age, would probably prefer more of a play room atmosphere this is meant more for family gatherings, teens and tweens hanging out, parties or sleep overs, and of course football season.
If you are lucky enough to be finishing out your basement, I highly recommend adding in a wet bar area. Now obviously it will completely depend on your available space, but an option like this built in cabinet area would allow for snacks and drinks to be served during game time. A mini fridge could be added along with a microwave for convenance.
The ottoman provides a perfect storage area for board games, extra pillows or blankets. I would recommend a couple of these to keep your REC room clean and tidy. While I am not a huge fan of entertainment centers anymore. I understand that some walls your in your home might require the television to sit on a table, in those cases I like this option.
Of course, every REC room needs to have the toys. The most obvious choice being a pool table, or gaming consoles. I really like the farmhouse style of this pool table. The cue cabinet is has a dart board inside so you will get a double use out of it. I also love the coffee table foosball option because it is smaller, takes up less space and still is a functional sofa table.
I believe I have posted before about the minted Art program but I really can not say enough great things about it. Here are a few fantastic selections that would pair well with the other decor selections above. Each of these are a one of kind art piece from local artists. They can be framed and signed to meet your design criteria. They even offer commissioned and custom art designed with your own specific colors to match your room.
