A Woodland Fox Hollow Tablescape

Happy Fall Y’all, today we are welcoming September to our home with a Woodland Fox Hollow Tablescape.

This fall I was inspired by all the little woodland creatures that have been stirring in our backyard to create a woodland Fox Hollow Tablescape. While the foliage outside has not turned to bright orange and umber hues yet, I wanted to bring that feeling into our fall tablescape this year. Woodland Foxhollow Tablescape JENRON DESIGNSTo create this table I started with a base runner of green sheet moss to emulate the forest floor. Sheet moss has been one of my favorite tablescape bases and while I usually implement them in the spring with bunnies and flowers, I wanted to try a new feel with fall this year.

Designer Tip- use plastic sheeting or cut a garbage bag to place under your moss to prevent any discoloration to your table. While my sheet moss is completely dry and preserved, some sheet moss can still be slightly damp upon arrival and could ruin your table tops.

Foxhollow Tablescape JENRON DESIGNSI used other natural items like pinecones and these fun cut tree rings that were leftover from our Faux Fireplace project to create a little woodland path along the moss. I added in some bottle brush Christmas ornaments throughout the display as my woodland creatures, they even matched up to the cute plates I found at Hobby Lobby this season.Matching plates and Creatures Woodland Tablescape JENRON DESIGNSAs you can see their were several styles of accent plates: a sweet little hedgehog, owl, wise fox and a raccoon. Funny enough all of these creatures have passed through our yard this season, which made the theme perfect. Place settings Tablescape JENRON DESIGNSI layered the plate on top of my luxurious Belgian Linen napkins with orange plates and placed them on galvanized metal chargers, just to add a rustic outdoor feeling to the table. Then added in our copper mule cups, which adds just the right amount of glam to this table.Woodland & Foxhollow Table JENRON DESIGNS*Please note that I was compensated for this post. You may notice that I opted to bring the bench back to the table again this season, and I have added a luxurious faux bear skin rug and these fun tree ring cushions to soften the seating this season courtesy of the HYSEAS company.Woodland Seat Cushions JENRON DESIGNSMany of you know how I love to use rugs in unexpected ways. I have been known to toss them in the middle of a table as a table cloth as well, especially when they are super soft like this one. However today I love the idea of adding it to the chairs or benches to make a cozy seat cover for chairs that might be a dense wood or hard metal. Woodland Tree Ring Cushions JENRON DESIGNSYou may also notice in the distance that I have also added in a set of matching faux Bear skin style pillows (faux sheepskin) as well to the sideboard chairs along with a fun faux log pillow which makes a nice lumbar pillow to go with this set.

Also on the sideboard you can see my Ironstone soup tureen and vintage milk jug which play nicely with the rustic outdoorsy theme of the room. I added in a few pillar candle and some of the same foliage from the centerpiece to bring the rust and orange tones over this space. Woodland Bearskin Pillows JENRON DESIGNSLooking at the centerpiece it is constructed in a faux hollowed out log. So I wanted the foliage to look like woodsy ferns and things that were dying off for the fall and changing colors. Like a pile of leave on a log in the woods, where these tiny creatures have made a home. Woodland Table JENRON DESIGNSI even have a few of my sculpted and autographed field  mice tucked into the arrangement which can be a bit unnerving if you are not looking closely. These are unusually among my Halloween decor or my Christmas decor, since a creature is not stirring, not even a mouse.Woodland Fox Hollow Table JENRON DESIGNSThe overall effect of the table feels like a childhood story book that has come to life, as if you are dining with Snow White in her village of creatures in the woods, which is just plain fun, and who wants a boring old stuffy table anyways? Why not make it adventure for the season, the world is such a serious hard place to live in right now, do something beautiful and fun. Woodland copper Tablescape JENRON DESIGNSMost of just enjoy your time this season and those that you have gather around the table with you.  Make memories that you can carry with you no matter where you go.
