The Luxe Mini Bar Armoire

Don’t be afraid to channel your inner rockstar with the Luxe Mini Bar Armoire. Let me show you how easy it is to put a luxurious, mini bar in your very own bedroom and how you can reuse you that old armoire at the same time.

Honestly one of my favorite things about going on vacation is booking one of those super luxurious hotel room. You know the kind, with an ultra plush bed layered high with 400 thread count sheets, a fantastic bathroom full of fancy spa themed toiletries, and of course an off the chain mini bar.  This is what inspired the Luxe Mini Bar Armoire for our bedroom.
DIY mini bar liquor bottles JENRON DESIGNSNow everyone knows the mini bar is a complete and total rip off, reserved for late night snack cravings or hangover cures. I mean come on, $12.00 for a bag of pretzels and $10.00 for Sprite, that is not the way to spend your hard earned cash on vacation. However, we have all done it, we have open up the illicit mini bar just to peer inside at all it’s tasty contents, only to slam it shut and think, oh my why did I even have to look. Well I personally believe in living a resort lifestyle every day, so just being in your own home feels like a non stop vacation. In fact I love my house so much, the hubby has to take me to some pretty special places to even get me out of it.Rennovate your Armoire JENRON DESIGNSI decided to adapted our old, antique Armoire into a bedroom mini bar.  Over the years, the armoire has lost its purpose and usefulness. We no longer use it to hide away a big boxy television, and all our clothes go into our monstrously huge closet spaces. What to do with your Armoire JENRON DESIGNSSo what would we ever use it for? Then it hit me, I know we will buy a mini fridge and put it inside to create a mini bar in our master bedroom…..GENIUS!!! So that is exactly what we did, and now we live like vacationing rock stars in our daily lives.DIY mini bar armoire JENRON DESIGNSAs you can see we purchased a mini refrigerator, you can pick one up for about a $130 at most local retailers,Igloo 3.2 cu. ft. Refrigerator and Freezer, Platinum. I personally liked the ones that had a small freezer, so you can have ice for drinks, or store some ice cream snack bars.Mini Bar Armoire DIY JENRON DESIGNS

DIY  TIP: If your armoire does not already have cable holes in the back you may have to drill one out for the plug to pass through.

Then we added clear stackable acetate closet shelves bins for snack storage. There are lots of options for water bottles, snacks trays and wine bottles so you create the best fit for your armoire space. Check out a few of our favorites:

MY BEAUTY SECRET: I also like to utilize the refrigerator to store some of my beauty products. For example, fresh face masks, jade face rollers and cooling eye gels feel so good when they are applied cold straight from the refrigerator, and it also really helps with eye puffiness too. It is also handy for prescription medications too, like insulin or other refrigerator based injectables. Mini Bar Drink Selection JENRON DESIGNSHaving a fridge near by will also save yourself the trip down stairs for that late night snack of cookies and milk, or whatever it you are craving, or you can just hide all the really good snacks from the kids, either way it’s a win win.Full view of Mini Bar Armoire JENRON DESIGNS This is also great if you have medications that need refrigeration, or if you suffer from low blood sugar and require a quick boost of energy in the early morning hours.  You can also use this idea for a guest suite as well, however your guest may decided they never want to leave. Hi Jennifer, l love your idea! As a senior citizen couple, one of the first things I decided we must have for our up stairs bedroom suite was a mini fridge. We love that we have our goodies near by.

  2. Jennifer

Thank You VP!!! This was a fun post to do, as we really love this idea, and wanted to share. It is especially great on rainy days like today where you just want to curl up with a good book and some snack.

Congratulations on your blog endeavor! Love the mini bar.

  8. Jennifer

  9. Cristy

    What a great idea! 💜💛❤💙💚

  10. Jenn

What a great idea! I love it!

  11. Susan

As with all of your cool ideas, LOVE it BUNCHES! Of course, don’t be surprised now if some of those goodies disappear along with the kitties’ treats (yep! I see you Friskies Mixers 😻)! PS, Kana says she would like some Skittles added to that bunch! Lol!

  12. Jennifer

LOL!!! I was hoping someone would see the Friskies Party Mix in the upper right corner!!! I am thinking I would like to have a whole “hidden kitty” section in the blog, kind of like Where’s Waldo style game or find the horseshoe like in Southern Living’s magazine. You gotta know taking pictures with these rascals is hard work, I have an entire gag reel just from one photo shoot. Tell Kana Skittles will be added per her request 🙂

  13. Jennifer

Thank you and thanks for following my new journey.

  14. Jennifer

Thanks for checking out my blog. You have an amazing site too!!! I enjoyed the barn board wall you added to your foyer it is beautiful!!!!

  15. Jennifer

Thank you, and I appreciate you stopping by my blog. You know sometimes necessity is the mother to all inventions. We had several reasons to need a refrigerator close by and voila it turned into a mini bar, fun how things work out.

  16. Very cool idea indeed.Put it in the guest room for profit 😉

  17. Jennifer

Now that is a funny idea, but I think all my guest would eat all the goodies and not pay, at least all the kiddos that is.

  18. This is a GREAT idea! So creative, yet so practical! No need to sneak to the kitchen for a late-night snack!

  19. If I had one of these in my room, I would be in serious trouble! The hubby wouldn’t mind though!

  20. Yeah it’s not recommended for the whole30 challenge….LOL.

  21. Exactly!! Night caps in the room. I also use mine for some of my beauty products that require refrigeration, and ice packs for the occasional headache. It is quite handy.

  22. Ruth

Wow. your idea of a luxurious mini bar is amazing! Your bar is really cute and l believe it’s always full of drinks and snack 🙂

  25. This is a great idea, I am so glad I found your blog.

  26. Emmaline

Are you kidding me? This is a super cool idea, I would have never though of it myself, but it makes perfect sense. I have an old armoire and I can convert to a man cave bar…. such a great idea! Pinning for later. Thank you for posting and sharing your genius idea with the world.

  27. Ken Grochowski

Your husband is a lucky guy. I would love to have a mini bar in my bedroom, it would save me a trip downstairs at night.

  28. Andrianna Acakat

Brillant idea, I am not sure why people have not done this yet. Hotels everywhere use this exact technique to charge $30 for a Snickers. HAHAHA I love a good mini bar, I must have my own.

  29. Irine Lazoni

I would have never thought to out a refrigerator into an armoire’. How on earth did you come up with this idea? I am going to have to follow you now since I see that you are clearly a genius! Brilliant concept thank you for sharing, I think everyone will be implementing this idea soon 🙂

  33. Marco Umi

I am so doing this DIY, however I might be added this to my man cave. Not sure I want a full bar downstairs as it is expensive to keep it stocked properly to look good. Nice middle of the road option.

  34. Wilma Doll Baby

You have had a stroke of genius here. Why have people not thought about this before. Pinning for later!

  35. The DIY girl

Wow! This could be one of the most helpful blogs I have ever arrived at on this renovation subject. Basically, Fantastic. I am an expert in blogging so I understand all your effort.

  36. Lydia & Laney

Such an inventive use of an armoire’, this is one of the best ideas i have seen to date. Especially for a man cave or teen suite, minus the alcohol of course. Did you think about refinishing the color or painting the outside to upgrade it? I was thinking bar logos or decoupage chip bags, but I like artsy wild things.

  37. That is a great idea!!! I was locked into keeping the same color to match the rest of my bedroom suit, but sure why not add some character too it. I think that would be fun. 🙂

  38. The Goot

I would not have thought to put a mini bar in a piece of furniture like a hotel, you have blown my mind. Boom! That was my mind blowing up right there. Appreciate you sharing, it’s a really great DIY article.

  110. C.C delights

The idea that you are purposing is an excellent idea. Where did you find the little mini bottles of liquor? Did you steal them from a plane?

  111. major nelson

This is a really great idea, you don’t mind if I steal it for my home do you?

  112. Ally & Jed

Well this is an unexpected idea, and I must say I really love it! The snack cubbies you got are a perfect fit in that cabinet with the refrigerator, did you have to search the world over for them? If it was me, I would never be able to find a in stock item that easily. Okay one more question, does it always stay that full and stocked?

  113. Hi Ally & Jed thanks for stopping by! Okay so it was pure luck that I found those cubes, at The Container Store, and that they fit perfectly. Second question- Yes, we try to keep it stocked but my husband goes on late night snacking benders so it is quite the challenge to keep it fully stocked. So the content changes based on grocery sales and availability that week.

  114. Staci Tagliente

Saw this picture on Pinterest just wanted to tell you have some really great ideas, keep up the good work.

We have a local liquor store that has them in a large bowl at the check out, shout out to the Cork n’ Barrel. I also ordered a case of them for my husband 40th birthday party favors see this post I think you might like it. http://jenron-designs.com/rons-whisker-whiskey-40th-birthday-bash-tbt/
