THE FINAL REVEAL

Looking at the Detail’s

Let’s start from he ground up. I found these ultra plush Ralph Lauren bath mats at my local Home Goods. I loved the color and pattern as it envoked a serine spa feeling. They also matched the shower curtain I ordered from Wamsutta, in Baratta Teal  perfectly.

I finished off these beautiful Barn Wood Hooks, you can see check the full DIY link here, with some ultra plush Signature Egyptian Cotton Couple’s Terry Spa Robes  if you have not tried the robes from Luxor do yourself a favor and try them. They are so soft and cuddly they make great holiday gifts for those “hard to buy for people” on your list.

I found these stylish Le Masion, Le Bain Bath Towels and WASH clothes at Home Goods. They were also the perfect color to match both the shower curtains and rugs. I really like to add in some personalized bath towels to my standard on hand all white collection. It makes the room feel more personalized and special for your guests.
It is not a secret that I love the look of a Mint Julep Cup, I think they have a unstated elegance to them and can work in any room. I found these sweet little Mint Julep candles online at a little wine company called IWA. I knew the minute I saw them that I just had to have them.  I put one in the toilet room and the other two on the sink area.

Part of making a guest bath feel inviting and luxurious is having nice products to offer to your guest. I know those of you that read all my posts know I am a huge fan of LUSH and Jo Malone bath products, but I also really like the Barr-Co Products. Their cute down home packaging was the perfect look for this rustic spa bathroom and the smell of this Fir & Grapefruit Gift Set is so refreshing.

On my inspiration board I had a large wicker hamper, which I think you need in every bathroom, to catch all the soiled towels, wash cloths and in this case robes. I found this really great hamper a my local Pier One. As you can see it is the perfect size to fit directly at the end of the vanity and can hold a week’s worth of linens. By far my best purchase for this room, because this is a true multi-tasker. This basket can be useful anywhere, a bedroom closet or a laundry room.

I even did a little organization under the sink. Lidded glass jars are added to hold cotton balls and q-tips. A basket of bath essentials in case your guest forgot something. Chakir Turkish Linen 8-Piece Turkish Cotton Towel Set with 2 Bath Towel (27-Inch-by-54-Inch), 2 Hand Towel (16-Inch-by-30-Inch) and 4 Washcloth (13-Inch-by-13-Inch), all in white. You always want to make sure your guest have plenty on linens under the cabinet for the duration of their stay. I really like these towels since they are quite affordable, wash up really good, and alway keep their color, or in my case actually stay white, LOL. Check out more in my Bathroom Organization post, for all my best tips on how to organize everyday items in your bathroom.

Whew, I am glad we got everything done and had a week to spare. Now I am spinning off into the Christmas Tree world to get the house ready for my favorite time of the year along with all the guests. Be sure to check out our posts on 5 Tips to Making Your Holiday Guests Feel Welcome and our Christmas Home Tour. I guarantee you these are both posts you won’t want to miss!

  23. Debbie Does DIY

This turned out so nice Jen! I am so happy that you have found a great group of bloggers like this and you can share your many talents with them all.

  24. Jillian Washorn

I am really loving the full transformation your did for this Jack and Jill Bathroom. I know I have been looking for inspiration for mine for a while now, but you did not see many design posts on this type of bathroom. They mostly consist of large spa like master baths, which is weird considering most on the population has something more like this, especially if they have kids. Thank you for giving me such a great inspiration for my space.

  25. Amy @ Her Faith

Your bathroom turned out great for the ORC. I really like how the wainscot made the space seem larger and you integrated items to make your guest feel welcome like the robe hooks. That might be my favorite diy project just because it was so simple, I could make that during the week without any assistance. Great job, love it so much.

  26. Pippa’s Parade

I love everything about this loo, it turned out perfect and I love that your kept clean lines and the batten board white. It gives the feeling that everything is fresh perfect for a guest on suite.

  27. Blue Constantine

The ORC bathroom turned out beautiful. I love the blue glass accents and those fantastic robe hooks. I am mesmerized by your homemade art and both DIY projects. You really went all out and did a great job enriching the plain builder great space. I will be excited to see what you choose for the Spring Challenge.

  28. Renee Mathis

This project turned out really great, and you showed the ORC who is boss. Over the 6 weeks you had so many DIY’s and Craft projects, the entire segment was full of easy to do yourself projects. One of the best I have seen for a do it yourself. My favorite was the mirror frame out, which is genius! Give yourself a big pat on the back because you deserve it.

  29. The DIY girl

This was a very impressive read 7 weeks worth of great design ideas and DIY’s. I will be checking out your past Spring ORC as well, you put a lot into this challenge. I hope you plan to continue to do the challenge going forward this year, and I can not wait to see what you bring to the table this time.

  30. Jenni Prater

I have read the entire 7 weeks of this ORC segment and choose to wait until the end to comment. I wanted to say all your posts are really great. You offer so many DIY’s and money saving tips. You are clearly more that just a designer your are truly a creator. You can make your art, walls finishes, mirrors and it all just amazes me. If you can dream it you can make it happen which is very impressive. Thank you for such an entertaining read I know a lot of hard work goes into to the making of this, but please know that it is appreciated, I love it!

  31. DIYer

Would you be all in favour of exchanging hyperlinks?

  32. the cheap jordans

I intended to write you to say thank you for all the pleasant tips you’ve shown at this time. It has been so surprisingly generous of you to deliver publicly precisely what you have to a number of people could possibly have distributed as an e book to make some cash on how to install batten board. The strategy is well served to become a easy way to be aware that other people online have the same passion the same as mine to understand significantly more in respect of this matter.

  33. Youngy

There’s a secret about your post does anyone else know it?

  34. Roberta

Finally! This is just what I was looking for, a simple to follow DIY on board and batten.

  35. Andrea Sullivan

I simply needed to thank you so much for all you hard work you put on over the 6 week or rather 7 week challenge. This go round was a great competitor filled with lots of great designers. I loved seeing you work and the tutorials you included for the DIY followers. You are really on to something with that concept. So don’t let go or sell out.

  36. gigi58

Aw, this was a very nice post. I would love to become a participant in the ORC but time has not been easy to crave out for the 6 week challenge. You really created a magnificent space, and you had so many great DIY inspirations as well, not just buying a whole bunch of stuff and putting it into a room, I mean anyone can do that. I love to see the designer on ORC that actually do the work themselves, to me it says a lot about the designer.

  37. Addison Wheeler

I get so much pleasure from reading a blog like this. I just wanted to leave you are comment to let you know that and also how beautiful your bathroom turned out to be.
