Fourth of July Tablescape

Fourth of July Tablescape

Hey Y’all,  I hope you are having a fantastic time celebrating Fourth of July on this long holiday weekend, I know we sure are!

We have been very busy with several neighborhood events, and a little antique shopping plus we have some family popping over for the Fourth. Today I wanted to share our very patriotic Fourth of July tablescape to hopefully give you all some inspiration for your own tables. As you can see there is no shortage of red, white or blue here. We are proud to be American’s, celebrating our great nations birthday this year, and honestly I think she is looking pretty good for her age. I love the large red metal star on the sideboard which draws the focus over to that area and keeps the rustic feel. It can be used for Christmas too!So let’s dive into the details, of how I put this table together.  I found these really cool galvanized metal chargers, over the summer. I thought they matched the theme nicely especially with the addition of the galvanized pails. In fact, they work so well, they may be my new favorite table charger right now. I have a feeling you are going to see a lot of them going forward since they seem to work with everything farmhouse and that trend is really on the rise. These touches of faux grass add a nice touch of the outdoors without all the bugs in all the comfort of air conditioning, lol. I really love how just a pop of green to all the red, white and blue levels this table out. Plus I don’t know about you guys but when I think of the Fourth of July I think of fresh green grass, fireflies, and sparklers. In fact you could totally add sparklers to these pails for lighting later, outside.
Sipping sweet tea and lemonade out of mason jars is such a southern thing, and works well with this theme. I have to say, I use mason jars for everything! While you can pick up a case for a very reasonable price, I have a trick below for getting them for free. Then you  never have to worry about breaking one, they are so easy to replace.

MONEY SAVING TIP: Alright, I am going to give you my “el cheapo” trick for getting a bunch of them. These are spaghetti sauce jars from Classico pasta sauce. I actually started saving them in my early 20’s after Ron and I got married. We didn’t have a lot of money back then so if I bought the pasta sauce I would get a free glass, it was a win win for us. Now, I have actual MASON jars as well in the smaller size, which I use a juice glasses, but I like to keep these to remember where we came from and how blessed we are now.Since no Fourth of July table would be complete without mason jars, you got to have stainless steel straws, am I right? I just love these straws, especially since they never get soggy like the paper ones, they are very eco-friendly and reusable, just wash them in the dishwasher. I know the great state of California would be all about these! I have seen a lot people using the Ball Aluminum Party Cups too, which are fun, however I do question the cleanliness of them at certain parties. (which is really more of refection of the hosts not the product, bottom line put them in the dishwasher people just use the top shelf)
Don’t forget my must have quintessential red napkins, these guys pull double duty thought out the year. You will see them at Christmas and Valentine’s Day, they are a staple in my entertaining linen closet, a true must have! The runner is homemade, a simple white runner and I added some flags down the middle after removing the wooden sticks. Actually a few were not attached very well, so they were already coming off the sticks. So life gave me lemons, and I made lemonade and put it in my  mason jars! Sometimes it is just so easy, I even amaze myself, LOL!To complete the look on the sideboard I added a white pitcher full of antique dyed mini flags. The rustic red star actually adorned the top of our 15 foot Christmas tree last year. Again, like I have always said, I covet items that can pull double duty in my home. A good multi tasking item can really save on having a lot things you don’t need, and a clean house equals a clean mind… for me anyways. So what was on the menu over at Chateau Gainer? Well my husband recently got a Big Green Egg for Christmas, and has smoked everything that will stand still. He has joined an Egg Head Group online, and has a great group of Egg Header’s in the neighborhood too. Such a fun little pass time and great way to meet new like minded people from all over.4th of JUly Menu JENRON DESIGNSBe sure to check out how we utilized the leftovers and made my famous Cowboy Nachos later in the week which were delicious.
