Festive Fortune Cookies

Festive Fortune Cookies

Here’s my quick and easy tutorial on how to make those fun Festive Fortune cookies. Earlier in the week I showed you a cozy Valentine’s Day Dinner with a fun fusion twist for Chinese New Year.

The easiest way to make these is to purchase pre-made fortune cookies. Which can be picked up at a local Chinese restaurant the same time you order the Valentine’s Dinner for 2. If you are feeling industrious you can always try to look up a recipe to make your own fortune cookies.  I personally knew this was not going to be my strong suite, so mine are store bought. If you choose to make your own, you have the ability to put your own Valentine Themed fortunes inside.
Next you will need to assemble your ingredients, which are Chocolate Chips and Sprinkles. Also, I placed wax paper under the area that I was working to prevent spills, drips and over all mess.
You are going to melt the chocolate chips down according to the directions on the bag.  I started with 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds, repeat in 30 second increments until melted. Stirring often.  Once your chocolate is melted you are going to want to dip one side of the fortune cookie into the chocolate and then coat with sprinkles.  I worked with one batch of chocolate at a time, and did half the cookies in chocolate and half in white chocolate.
