Bushel & Peck Table Setting

Bushel & Peck Table Setting

For me any season or holiday is a great excuse to create a fun new table setting. So why wouldn’t an apple picking adventure be any different?

As I have mention I love the fall and everything pumpkin, but sometimes I just feel like the lonely apple is often overlooked. Apple Picking has be a fall favorite for me as long as I can remember. You drive up into the mountains, making it a family adventure and select your perfect apples right off the tree. Check out our previous post Apple Picking. Then after a fun day in the mountains of making memories, your take all your farm fresh treasures home and create some delicious homemade family recipes.I always make sure to pick up some fresh apple cider, while I am at the orchards since it makes the perfect cool weather drink. I  have a great recipe for a Hot Apple Toddy, I will add into my recipe box sometime this week, so you guys make sure to check that out, it is perfect for the fall.
So why would you end you apple picking adventure there, why not bring a little bit of that rustic charm and fun home with you?  I decided for this year’s early fall table I would recreate my apple picking adventure to savor through out the month of September.  Since it is a simple every day look, I am able to use my casual everyday china which I layered on top of some rustic galvanized chargers.I also wanted to utilize a lot of fabrics and textures by way of linens. I kept and reused the vintage toile napkins from last month, but layered them with a super casual denim napkin to ingrate that farm feeling, all a top a chevron patterned rustic burlap runner.

As the floral centerpiece I fresh cut a bundle of my Autumn Hydrangeas from my backyard. These are known as a Limelight Hydrangea which are a pretty white and lime green color though out the summer, then the remaining blossoms will turn a slight pinky purple color in the fall. Which is why they are called autumn hydrangeas.
Finally, I wanted to add a little whimsey to the table. I decided to put a votive candle in these repurposed tin cans. Seriously y’all these are just regular cans from vegetables I used while I was cooking. I removed the labels, and ran them through the dishwasher and voila instant rustic candle holder. I believe in using what you got, which is the entire reason farmhouse is a style to begin with, they used what they had on the farm.I will admit, I was actually saving these for an outdoor punched tin can patio project, which you might be seeing later this fall if I get around to doing it. Just act surprised when you see them all made over. I got to be honest with you, I really hate paying a lot of money to put things outside just to get weathered and worn. It sort of irks me just a tad bit.I hope you have enjoyed looking at this table, as much as we have dining around it. It was such a breeze to make, and since we repurposed everything it did not cost us a thing penny except for the apples. Which we are using in tons for tasty treats this season and you can catch several recipe live this week on the blog.

My theme was a pre designed theme available front WordPress that I did a lot of custom work too to create my own personal layout. So it really depends on your computer skill level and how my time you have to put into creating your blog. Hope this helps.
